Zoonotic Diseases – Training Modules

The in-service training courses focus on building the competencies and proficiencies of clinicians in managing zoonotic disease cases effectively.  In addition, courses are also available for improving infection prevention and control; specimen collection and transportation; case notification and surveillance.

A pre-service course is also included for medical and nursing students to improve their knowledge and skills about zoonotic diseases.

Zoonotic Diseases – Clinical Guidelines

The Clinical Guidelines for Zoonotic Disease (ZDs), have been developed to improve the detection, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases caused by various zoonotic diseases by Iraqi clinicians and other frontline healthcare workers.

The clinical guidelines support clinicians in three key areas:

  1. use of differential diagnosis approach for detecting and diagnosing zoonotic diseases,
  2. provide access to information that would improve the quality of clinical services and case management including patient follow up
    strategies for infection prevention and control, and 3) provide a framework for local response to zoonotic disease outbreaks.
